Popular Post Saint Bonaventure Posted December 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 26, 2023 Cardinal Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, spoke at midnight Mass on Christmas Eve at the Church of St. Catherine in Bethlehem. He gave an update of the situation happening at the Holy Family Parish in Gaza. The Holy Family Parish complex includes the Missionaries of Charity convent that was, reportedly, hit by IDF tank fire, and where a mother and daughter were reportedly killed by IDF snipers. Catholic news sources have reported that the nuns, who care for 40-60 disabled children and adults, and whose charter directs them to give shelter and food, were going without food themselves so that those in their care could eat. The nuns would only eat if there was food left over. Cardinal Pizzaballa indicated that through collaboration between the Church of Jerusalem and the Kingdom of Jordan, food and supplies were delivered to Holy Family Parish on Christmas Eve. What a wonderful blessing on Christmas Eve. And of course, what we pray for is peace and flourishing for all concerned. The peace of the Lord be with you always.
