Popular Post smac97 Posted September 13, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2022 Having just started two grim threads, here's an uplifting one: Latter-day Saints announce opening dates for its first temple in Puerto Rico, plus renovations in Sweden Quote SALT LAKE CITY, Utah Sept. 12, 2022 (Gephardt Daily) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the dates for the opening of its first temple in Puerto Rico and renovations of its temple in Sweden. Dates for the open house and dedication of the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple have been set as well as the three-year closure of the Stockholm Sweden Temple for upgrades, according to a press release posted Monday on the church website. The public open house in Puerto Rico will run from December 1, 2022, to December 17, except for Sundays. The temple dedication on Sunday, January 15, 2023, will take place with three sessions: 9 a.m., noon, and 3 p.m. In Stockholm, the temple will close for extensive renovations in 2023. Reconstruction is anticipated to last approximately three years. Following the remodel, the public will be invited to tour the temple during an open house. After the open house, the temple will be rededicated. There are only 23,473 members of the Church in Puerto Rico. I am continuously grateful that the Church has adopted a "small temple" approach, as this allows access to the temples for Saints who would otherwise have had to wait years and years. Thanks, -Smac 6
Buckeye Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Puerto Rico could use some good news. It’s been a tough last few years. 1
