Distributism And The United Order

Walden, you lack imagination... There is no Zion without the power of the Priesthood. And when I mean power I will qualify it by JST Genesis 14:30-31 definition of Priesthood power. That is the kind of power that exists in Zion.

You won't find that in any Kibbutz... Zion is for the elect after the order of the Son of God. It cannot be practiced without it!

LOL, oh yeah like what? When I see people from North Korea suffering because of communism or people sacrificing they're lives to escape Cuba because of the horror of communism I don't see any beauty just bondage!

"People create beautiful things" Sure and communism isn't one of them!

There is nothing beautiful about communism. Nothing! But you can preach your propaganda to the ignorant who hasn't studied the subject...

Zion is about exlaltation communism is not!

I am going to assume you have never been to china or Vietnam?

You are confusing communism with totalitarianism. There is a big difference, though the two are often confused because they seem to go hand in hand when communism is attempted on a national scale.

For a better example of how I imagine the United Order, see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kibbutz

Is that not communism?

I think you are probably pretty close to be correct. Although distributism probably comes closest to matching an economic system with current LDS values. As to its not actually having any existing examples, I would direct attention to certain areas in Spain and Italy.

Since you evidently view distributism as an economic system, could you answer the question I posed earlier in the thread and posted for your convenience below:

Could you explain the mechanism in distributism for distributing things like property and scarce resources, particularly within a non-agrarian society like what exists throughout most of the developed world?

In other words, how would distributism work for a fast-food cook now living in a government-subsidizes apartment in a high-rise building in Harlam?

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

Yeah China's sweatshops are AMAZING!!! How about the Great Wall? I mean it only took millions of deaths under bondage to build it. Yeah very Zion like...

You are aware that the Great Wall was built before communism was even a concept right?

You are also aware that sweat shops are a product is capitalism and western demand and western corporations need to lower costs at the expense of working conditions?

Given your response im going to just move on.

Of course you are right. I'm just messing with you... You don't actually expect me to have a serious conversation with someone that actually thinks that communism has beauty do you?

Communism has about as much in common with a Zion society as Lucifer does with Jesus.

But don't let me stop you from moving on with your delusions of communism.
