There is a big difference, though the two are often confused because they seem to go hand in hand when communism is attempted on a national scale. Although distributism probably comes closest to matching an economic system with current LDS values. As to its not actually having any existing examples, I would direct attention to certain areas in Spain and Italy.

Since you evidently view distributism as an economic system, could you answer the question I posed earlier in the thread and posted for your convenience below: Could you explain the mechanism in distributism for distributing things like property and scarce resources, particularly within a non-agrarian society like what exists throughout most of the developed world? In other words, how would distributism work for a fast-food cook now living in a government-subsidizes apartment in a high-rise building in Harlam? Communism has about as much in common with a Zion society as Lucifer does with Jesus. But don't let me stop you from moving on with your delusions of communism.
