frankenstein Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) I am bound by my honor and my sense of decency towards my fellow human beings. My soul rejoices in the maturing the church has gone through since 1978 and the clarification the Apostles and Prophets have made in 2012 due to recent events.I don't need to be bound by particular chery picked historical statements to follow the Holy Ghost and the instructions of the living brethren. So an entire statement which posted in its complete form on FAIR is cherry picked? I am glad the church renounced racism. As for the recent events the only renounced "some explanations" that can be deemed as personal statements. It just seems implausible that the Church would label an OFFICIAL First Presidency statement as a "personal statement". We are bound by the 1978 revelation, and in my opinion can not dismiss the First Presidency has Official statements as personal statements. The Church position is that it is not known precisely why the ban began, and that the ban has ended. Are you adding your name to the list that the official first presidency statements from 1949 and 1969 are personal statements.
