Archeology Helps Unearth Findings For Research On The Philistines

Some of you may have already seen this but apparently in Israel there have been some archeological digs that have unearthed some interesting relics that once belonged to the Philistines. Its an interesting read...enjoy

Some scholars have suggested that the Philistine may have originally been soldiers returning from the Trojan war who decided to settle in Palestine rather than return home. I find it interesting that they also used the West Semitic script and one wonders if they may have had a part in it being transmitted to Greece.

There is a BYU professor in charge of one of the sections of that dig and a BYU grad who supervises another smaller section. Several other BYU students have participated in the dig over the last few years.

great to know, hopefully this leads to the availablity of more information in regards to these digs.
