Questing Beast Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 The KFD does not speak of this that I recall.The Father did the "savior thing", otherwise Jesus could not have done what he had "seen the Father do".We are part of this creation. The doctrine does not include any of "us" going on to become creators of worlds not part of Jesus Christ's creation. In other words, the atonement is a "family affair", from Father to Son, and no others are included....

In John 5:19 it says: "Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise."What does this mean? Mormon Fundamentalists believe it means that the Father of Jesus was a Savior also. And since they believe that Adam was the Father of Jesus, they believe Adam was a Savior on a previous earth. I am convinced that more revelation needed to be given, and that these speculative assumptions are not correct. Are you interested in the 2BC understanding of this matter?Richard

Was The Father ever a Savior (on another world), like Jesus is for us?This is unknown, I would say it is 50/50 it is just as likely as it is unlikely. Will we ever be saviors (on other worlds)?According to the scriptures we are the saviors for our dead ancestors who we perform proxy ordinances for, so the Saints are saviors on this world already. If we are worthy of exaltation, we become a God and are able to have our own spiritual children so we cannot be a savior in another world since we are the Heavenly Father of that world. Did Joseph Smith have anything to say about this in the King Follet discourse?I only know the basics of KFD, that it teaches the Heavenly Father had a Heavenly Father, so I cannot answer this fully.

The impetus for speculations on this front come from tenuous interpretations of statements that go far beyond the subject or scope at hand of their context.2. While there's plenty of explicit scriptures to the contrary, I see ZERO scriptural evidence for the possibility that we're going to be reincarnated, and die again.3. Joseph said nothing on this subject in the discourse about the subject.
