On the right hand of God

As I was reading City of God today, on my lunchbreak, by the venerable St. Augustine, this passage struck me, from his comments on Psalms 110:

"That Christ sits on the right hand of God is believed, not seen." (17:17)

I'm not sure whether this comment was an attempt by Augustine to deny that the New Testament martyr Steven saw a corporeal God. What I can thank him for in this instance, is helping me to realize that Steven's declaration as the mob was slaying him, was clear fulfillment of Messianic prophecy, the one from this psalm -- The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool.

To no one else but the Lord Messiah would such an honor be given.
