Relationship between grace and works in Mormonism

I think the verse speaks very well for itself. Only the ignorant would find offense in it.

BTW were does it say in the bible that "Only the ignorant would find offense in it".

Is this another one of those doctrines that you hold to that is not found in the bible?

I'm actually having a dialogue at the Institute with Brad Eggerton on this very subject. Brad is another UNT student and the director of the upcoming documentary Religion & Redemption: A Documentary on Mormonism. I will be giving a 20 minute presentation on Mormonism's view of grace, faith, and works, while he will be presenting the Reformed Southern Baptist view. We will then take questions from the audience. I will eventually post my paper when I'm through editing it.

But the best way to understand Mormonism's view is to understand both the Hebrew and Greek understanding of 'faith' and 'grace'. Both were used within the context of relationships, covenants, treaties, and reciprocity. 'Faith' was not just belief or trust. It was 'faithfulness', 'trustworthiness', 'loyalty'. 'Grace' was not some mystical thing that magically saves. It was a reciprocal system: God initiated it out of love and expected loyalty in return: "grace for grace." The initiation is not earned, but the relationship must be maintained and can be broken due to failure to reciprocate.
