Examining Mormonism in light of Mormonism

So, you reject the creeds?

Lehi

Embracing a/the creeds as a way to simply describe a part of a rather large piece of ground that is biblical Christianity does not require that we embrace the adjective. That is just your way to represent what we are not. I find it interesting that you continuously and constantly employ this tactic when it is this very tactic that you decry at every turn when it is used to represent lds.

As there are no "Mormons" (notice the capitalization), he is not. He's a Saint, like those of the biblical Christianity of which you claim to be a part (but which you do not resemble too very much â?? not even taking the name they applied to themselves).

That's just Paul (and Luke). Here are others:

All these (and the other 52 instances of "saint" in the New Testament) are from the same Greek word: ἅγιος (hagios), meaning "a most holy thing" or "a saint".

Your choosing to be insulted is a matter between your left and right ears. You'll have to deal with that on your own, perhaps with professional help.

Lehi

The term "saint" is an appropriate Biblical term as well as "Christian" in which we don't believe is applicable to specific Mormon doctrine.

Also, It is not choosing to be insulted, it's a matter of the source of the insult which is from the author of Mormonism and its adherents as directed toward others:

for they were all wrong; . . .all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt, - Joseph Smith

I wonder how many of us are aware of one of the great religious phenomenon of the ages, one that is now sweeping through Protestant Christianity, as only one other thing has ever done in the whole Christian Era. . . .let me first identify the original heresy that did more than anything else to destroy primitive Christianity.

This first and chief heresy of a now fallen and decadent Christianity- and truly it is the father of all heresies-. . .pertains now to the nature and kind of being that God is. . . .a spirit essence called the Trinity. . . .The adoption of this false doctrine about God effectively destroyed true worship among men and ushered in the age of universal apostasy. . . .

This second heresy-and it is the prevailing delusion and mania that prevails to this day in the great evangelical body of Protestantism-is the doctrine that we are justified by faith alone, without the works of the law. . . .It is the doctrine that we may be born again simply by confessing the Lord Jesus with our lips while we continue to live in our sins.

For those who are not "Mormon" we don't agree that Mormonism is the correct representation of the Christianity written about in the New Testament. That is our view.

"Mormons" have their own view which is different we believe based on their own writing. They are entitled to their view which is not where the dispute centers. The "Mormon" doctrine of Joseph Smith we don't accept as Biblical doctrine. Any agreement we have, we do agree on some things, is that which is plagiarized from the Bible.
