Early Christianity And Mormonism

I enjoyed reading your paper. However I kept finding myself returning to the first 3 pages, but reading something different each time. :P

I have one question about the LDS belief of Spirit Prison: At one time I was taught, I have no references, that the seperation of the people there was self imposed ie those of a like mind gathered themslves together, and your paper implies that there was more of an enforced seperation. Is there any validity to what I was taught?

Honestly, that's about as clear as mud for me. Both in LDS thought and early Christian thought, there are some things that imply actual localities and differences, and others that imply it's only an issue of state, not location. I tend toward location, simply because of Christ's parable of the rich man and Lazarus. I don't think there is a clear answer to that.

Brigham Young seemed to imply they were all in the same local, but in different states.. Much like we are here in mortality. I may be saved, but my neighbor may not. I may, in a sense, have returned already to the presence of God through the gift of the HG (and thereby entered Heaven already!), while my neighbor my be possessed with the spirit of the devil and already, so to speak, be in hell.

It's hard to say <_<

It sounds like you are on both sides of the fence; state and location. Ciouldn't both be right? I know for a fact I much prefer to live by people who have similar values as mine even in this life. Wouldn't this be more so in the next with our full knowledge returned?
