Good read Kerry! There are also some parallels of this in other cultures as well. I found some interesting "Suffering Servant" motifs in African and Asian cultures as well. Those Sumerians and Egyptians really got around, didn't they?

So do you understand the picture on JS Papyrus I to be a picture about Abraham (presumably as intended by it's creator) rather than a picture about Hor? I ask this because your post presented your blog entry as relevant to facsimile 1.

Hi Kamen....

I understand facsimile 1 to be an Egyptian picture being used by a Jewish redactor to illustrate an event in Abraham's life which the redactor wished to at least tell for didactic purposes.
