  1. May the force be with you as you try to learn anything.
  2. I figured as much. You not understanding is what we could refer to as blind faith. Okay. I will now elucidate, again. The term "blind faith" makes just as much sense as understanding what is not seen. That is what I meant when I said faith is blind as much as understanding is not seen. Do you see or understand now are are you still SeekingUnderstanding? Sure, I have an iisue with blind faith, although it isn't much of an issue. I like it. I like how I can understand without having to see something. And I like a lot of lazy forms of learning. Learning while sitting
  3. LGBTQ characters next. And then what? People who violate the Word of Wisdom? People who have sexual relations but who are not sealed as husband and wife in a temple of God? Protestants? Catholics? Muslims, even? (gasps!) Has any show ever had only perfect characters in it, with no flaws whatsoever! What are our standards for the types of characters that should be allowed to appear on TV shows and movies, exactly?
  4. I agree, but I think there are only 2 situations when a person/woman is forced to carry another person inside her body... and yes this always applies only to women because women are the only people who are able to carry another person inside their body. 1) When a woman is raped and one of her eggs is impregnated with her rapist's sperm, 2) When the spirit of another person inhabits her body against her will. All other situations when another spirit/person inhabits a woman's body is always and only allowed to happen with her consent, with her allowing it to happen.
  5. Dish what out? Take what? Understanding is the key to everything and while all of us have some things we do not understand there are some things that some people do understand that others of us do not. Do you now "see" all that I understand?
  6. Faith is blind as much as understanding is not seen. Interesting that you say you are SeekingUnderstanding. Please let us all know when you see what you understand.
  7. America in general is becoming less religious and more political. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2021/04/america-politics-religion/618072/ I suspect much of the rest of the world is the same or similar. I think most people know the difference well enough to separate politics from religion and religion from politics. What we are seeing is that a lot of people like both religion and politics and that when given a choice many discuss politics more than religion.
  8. Interesting. Something like empathy and compassion, I'm guessing. But I would still say you are you and only you even if you have what seems to you to be a really good view of another person through that person's windows, so to speak. But now back to my point, I was thinking Elder Anderson expressed the views he did regarding having children and abortion because of what he had seen in his own experiences. Friends he knew who decided to have more children, prompted by God (they told him) to do so. And the experience he had heard about from his daughter-in-law whose mother had decided t
  9. I wouldn't say it was bad. I don't think it is bad to use a lot of words to say something. There was a time when I used a lot of words too, and I enjoyed the process of doing it. Now I am more economical, I will say, with words. Maybe I'm just a bit lazy now.
  10. I like how Joseph Smith clarified and enhanced the text of Genesis: And I, the Lord God, commanded the man, saying: Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, nevertheless, thou mayest choose for thyself, for it is given unto thee; but, remember that I forbid it, for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. God our Father is the one we think of as the good guy in this story, and he is the one who forbid Adam and Eve to eat from that tree while allowing them to make their own choice abo
  11. That could still work. I would try to baptize as much as you would pray a Hail Mary. And friction is helpful for kindling the fire power of the Holy Ghost. We could both be like the Blues Brothers!
  12. A lot of words for only one sentence but a very good message in that. These days most people seem to want to use a minimal amount of words and say something short and sweet. But I think that's what they mean when they refer to their Savior. He is the one who has already saved and is still saving us from the fall. And we still call it the fall, rather than an ascending in glory. It was not a good move but at least Adam and Eve and us as their children gained (more?) knowledge of good vs evil.
  13. How about I baptize and you pray a Hail Mary? After we each take a turn to do the preaching.
  14. People experience what they experience so it is sometime difficult to talk about experiences they have not experienced. And I would guess that generally speaking it is better to have as many children as possible if all are likely to be healthy and well cared for. My wife and I are probably in the minority, I'm guessing, of people who were told that it was better to not have any children other than the 2 she had from her previous marriage. And she stopped at 2 with him, at the age of 23, because she had almost died after the second and was told by doctors that was likely to happen again, whe
  15. Okay, then I'll go back to the question I asked you before you focused on whether or not a missionary was acting in an official capacity. Do you see any concern from the "Brethren" about people representing (or misrepresenting) the Church on this board? We just had another session of General Conference and nobody mentioned what is going on here or on other websites.
