I recently got round to reading Ethan Sproat's essay, "Skins as Garments in the Book of Mormon" in the Journal of Book of Mormon Studies 2015.  http://publications.mi.byu.edu/fullscreen/?pub=3592&index=6 It's very interesting, and I'm sympathetic with the thesis and impressed by the work, having noticed and on occasion commented informally here on the equivalent use of skins and garments in several Book of Mormon passages, such as Alma 5:21-22 and others.  In looking around the web
