Elder Packer some time ago gave out a parable of his own making in which a person is in prison for not being able to pay his debtor, but a mediator comes to him and offers to buy his way out of jail if only the person will thereafter be obedient to the mediator. The debtor is God, the Mediator is Jesus, and we are the people in prison. This parable makes no sense to me as it is usually interpreted.
