rodheadlee Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Whosoever shall paint Teak, interior or exterior shall spend all eternity in the outer darkness. 🤔 Whosoever should paint mahogany, cherry wood, Walnut and Oak interior or exterior shall spend all eternity in the Terrestrial Kingdom. Unless the exterior wood is below the deck line on a vessel. Feel free to add to the list. 2
blackstrap Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Whoever shall paint OSB shall never be happy with the results. 2
MustardSeed Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 I used a “liquid wood” paint on my oak trim and cabinets- where will that set me? The floor is the original 90s orange color? The door trim is the new color.  Grain still shows.Â

So far I've spent two days scraping paint off the intricate trim of this boat I'm working on and I have two more days just on six windows. I started out using a paint stripper but I moved to using a heat gun as the paint was just too many coats and too tough. Once you start painting a nice hardwood it's really hard to go back to Natural Edited April 4, 2024 by rodheadlee 2

It has Amber in it. Teak holds up real well in a wet environment, it has natural oils in it. If you have teak that has turned gray you can use oxalic acid too bath it and restore the color. 3

I spent a year restoring the Interior of a '62 Chris Craft. Just the salon, galley and dining area. Edited April 4, 2024 by rodheadlee 3
