Is messaging disabled for me?

I can't send any messages or post in any forum except this one. Looked around for rules and guides without success. Can anyone tell me why?

I know that you cannot start a post in any forum other than social for a period of time. Also highly likely you will not be allowed to privately message. I’m not sure I would want a private message from somebody I was not familiar with. This also protects members from Spam.

You should be able to post in any forum, but you can’t start posts anywhere except the social forum and until you have posted 25 times.

at that point, you also gain the ability to message people and to edit your posts.

It disturbed me at first, I thought I wasn't staying logged in, I remember thinking an explanation needed to be clearly posted. Its automatic after 25 posts, assuming those posts aren't clearly spam, trolling, obscene or a solicitation.

The rules and guidelines are the first post in a thread pinned at the top of the main forum.  The 25 post requirement is mentioned close to the beginning of the post.  Iirc, it’s underlined or in italics or both.

At a rate of almost 1 post a year you only have a little more than 12 years till you get there!
