they might come from some strange teachings or something, guessing here.

My guess is more “birds of a feather flock together”.  Chances are they were looking for others who would give them permission and support in their wanderings and they found each other.

This is like a ward gossip thing

If you were not raised in Utah, no one has a guess what this is all about.

This is long past a few in Utah now. There is even a sub on reddit dedicated just to "snark" about it that has 43,000 members.

Oh my goodness, I did see a snippet of the storm and the tide coming in and bulldozing everyone in CA. I saw it out of the corner of my eye wherever I was and didn't get to see what happened. In Utah we have it pretty good until the big earthquake that has been loomin over us all. But do see what you mean about media taking it out of proportion!

Can I tell you something that will maybe crack you up some more??

Back when I met Garden Girl in Oregon where she lives near the ocean and my husband and I were traveling down the coast, we met her for breakfast. She told me I was way younger than she thought I was on this board, to her she imagined me to be totally different. Well, when I first read your posts or had conversations years ago, I pictured you to be a lot younger. So it's interesting how perceptions happen. :) Not that you're super old, but in my mind's eye you were this artsy fartsy young guy, lol.

Im not in utah or idaho and this was the talk of the table on a cruise I was on.  All mormon actives, sure.  But it's a small world in the church and people knew people who had seen hildebrandt for therapy and the word on the street was that if you went to her for therapy you'd end up divorced - so some husbands refused to go to her and they ended up divorced anyway because Hilde convinced the wives sight unseen that the husbands were no good.

As a therapist this interests me, for what its worth.

Sounds like a bad therapist to me

LOL! And I don't look a bit like the Hubble Telescope, either!

I picture you as a young mom, by the way. And I love your screen name -- it sounds very elegant for some reason.

My brother and our wives drove through GG's town on the day we were all together for the Solar eclipse of August 21, 2017. I so much wanted to meet her in person, but circumstances did not favor the endeavor. So far, I've met two board members in person, and it was very lovely in both cases.

LOL! I think you responded to something intended for @Tacenda, Mark!

Yet another example of how our PERCEPTIONS create our alleged "reality".

That's why I picked that Picasso self portrait!

It is a construction in the mind, made into a social "reality"

No, it was on purpose to make a point!

OK, that's what I thought, but your point escapes me, I'm afraid. :D

I suspect that you were making a joke, but if so, it flew right over my head. Thanks anyway!

Sorry, yes it was Jokish, but Ms. @Tacenda;) gave me an opportunity to try again to show that everything we know is WRONG! ;)

Goodbye Ruby Tuesday, who could hang a name on you... 🤪

The Rolling Stones

Yes, I finally flipped out! 🤭

One of my kids called me dada, and he was right!

Ask Morningstar. We're acquaintances IRL. There's another poster whose screen name currently escapes me. I can remember his IRL name at the moment, but not his screen name, LOL. He and I and our wives spent a pleasant afternoon touring the Pike Place Market in Seattle a few years back. They can both testify that I am not floating in space observing the heavens.

Ah, what would we do without Weird Al!

Perhaps Bernard Gui?  Didn’t he used to love in that area?

I know right??? But it still tells us a little about you. :) Thanks, I'm not a young mom. But isn't it interesting how we all may not seem what we are on this board. It'd be fun to have a private FB and have some of us join. Until it isn't, haha!! I'm friends with one person on FB though, and it's worked okay.

We could start a secret Facebook "combination".....

You be in charge, if people want to join, on pm you give them a secret password and then....  😜🤫

I'm FB friends with about five, I think. But I visit FB so seldom... and I should probably visit there more often. Last year I went back to my old ward to visit and discovered that a man whose family I had home taught for many years had died a few months before, and I hadn't heard. But if I visited FB more regularly I would have known and not asked his widow "Is Dan here today?"

Oh, that would be uncomfortable, but not your fault. I am on FB to just see how everyone's doing I guess. I don't post very much, and hubby really doesn't want me to I'll bet. I like people's posts, my sisters who live out of state, and old friends, or ward/neighbor's posts. I guess I need contact, even if it's one sided. I am interested in people, and also the funny videos on Tik Tok I enjoy. If I post it's usually something for others to get a smile or laughter out of. I only usually post personal stuff on my family's private FB, and even then I'm the only one to post things. It's kind of like a journal with family pics etc.

His widow was very gracious about it. She was the RS president who visited us the day my wife passed away, and brought much needed peace by her coming. A marvelous woman!
