Stephens of the Relief Society said about the top women church leaders: "Collectively, we’ve had many mortal experiences, either in our own individual homes, our immediate families, or in our extended families. Those have included unemployment, cancer, drug addiction, miscarriages, infertility, twins, death, divorce, adoptions, disability, financial loss, depression, alcoholism and pornography. These experiences have strengthened our testimonies, and they have created opportunities for us to rely on and to be strengthened through the atoning power of our Savior, Jesus Christ." Their experiences no doubt gave them perspectives that help them to be leaders for all women. 4 Link to comment

The term remnant movement has been applied to numerous small breakoff groups from the LDS Church preaching all kinds of false doctrines. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_fellowships_of_"the_Remnants"_movement Denver Snuffer and his group, Phil Davis and his group, and a few others. Their doctrines range and are all completely out there in my opinion. But they all consider themselves the special remnant being led out of the now apostate Church. 3 Link to comment
