I did notice this change:

New SFY: “Outside of marriage between a man and a woman, it is wrong to touch the private, sacred parts of another person’s body even if clothed. In your choices about what you do, look at, read, listen to, think about, post, or text, avoid anything that purposely arouses lustful emotions in others or yourself. This includes pornography in any form.“

vs

Old SFY: “Do not do anything else that arouses sexual feelings. Do not arouse those emotions in your own body.”

It seems they maybe steeping away from a focus on masturbation. Maybe not? What do you think?

I can remember when I was a teenager in the late 80’s/early 90s and our leaders and Bishopric would tell us young men that masturbation was just as sinful as having sex with a girl outside of marriage and it would make you unworthy to serve a mission without full repentance. This was a repeated discussion item.

Seems pretty clear there has been no change in whether it is now deemed acceptable:

”… avoid anything that purposely arouses lustful emotions in others or yourself.”

I would hate to see what you call a “big picture approach”  lead to rationalization or unwise wishful thinking about the sort of behavior that may now be permitted or indulged in. That’s the very thing that happened on the BYU campus in 2000, when an attempt to revamp the honor code with a similar approach led to just such wishful thinking, which had to be summarily disavowed in a subsequent clarification from Church headquarters.

I think the big difference there is "purposely".  Too many were feeling guilty when their bodies reacted in completely innocent moments.  This words it in such a way that you don't have to feel guilty over natural, but innocent feelings and puts the focus on when you are doing something to purposely  get those feelings.

We spent about a week in Wales in 2019. I don't remember seeing any American restaurants, but maybe we were just in the wrong places.  We did like the food though our favorite actually was the fish and chips in Aberystwyth. It was good enough I wished we weren't just passing through.

Do you ever read before commenting? No one was ‘wishing’ for anything. Show me how I wished for anything?
It’s clear they softened the language from the previous language. But I also said, maybe not.

I made and observation not an opinion on the subject matter.

I went in 2008.  We were around Bristol, but went up north to some really lovely green hill countryside.  The stuff you see in travel magazines.

Really.  I did see it in London and other countries, but not Wales.

But we did a lot of driving through the country and not on the highways.  One of the things I do when we travel is do a search for images and things from Atlas Obscura, etc.  I plug them into a google map and we make our way to places to see them.  So will see a few of the better known things, but also a lot of the lesser known/visited things - at least by Americans or so we have been told by those local.

We stayed in Pembroke & Conwy. And just over the borders in St Briavels and Chester.

We only had two meals in Wales. One was fish and chips (with amazing curry sauce) and the other was the worst meal I have ever had in my entire life (at a tiny village next to Tenby). 😂

Honestly though, the best food we had was mostly ethnic. The Indian and Chinese were so good!

We had breakfast one morning at a McDonald’s. And we stopped at the McDonald’s in Aberystwyth before heading to the pier for some real food.

I miss the kebab shops. Had one guy from Pakistan who would give us free kebabs if we had a funny polygamy joke. So when we were knocking doors we would work on creating a joke between doors.

I missed her talk, but I'm guessing you are talking about the other woman speaker who I don't have the name of right now.  She said she, ugh I can't remember the words right now, but basically did it with her dad's ok.
