Even the best of them must be considered our worst enemies. Christian love is an obstacle to the development of the revolution. Down with love for one’s neighbor. What we want is hate. I can see him believing in and preaching the middle though in a very particular way and for the government advocating for Christian values that are applicable to morality, but not because they are defined as Christian, but because they are good. I would be surprised if he advocated at all for the first.
