DT_ Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 (edited) Last year, someone set an 'Impossible' Super Mario Bros. World Record [1] finishing the game in less than five minutes. I watched the video of him breaking the previous world record, but I won't share it here because of the strong language. The gamer was very happy and said, "God took the wheel". He kept saying, "it was really not me, there's no way". Can God help someone break a world record? bluebell Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Maybe. I think it would depend on a lot of different things. People can learn and grow through many different venues, and a relationship with God can be gained through many different kinds of experiences. Also, God can accomplish a lot through people being in certain places at certain times. God’s plan for someone’s life might include winning a contest or something of that sort, not even necessarily for the winning but for the experiences that will occur after. Maybe a video game, or holding some kind of record, could facilitate those experiences and lessons for some specific person. I wouldn’t say it was out of the realm of possibility.

blackstrap Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 If, as some suspect, we are all living in a simulation/ video game , then why wouldn't God want to encourage top quality gamers ? 😆 2
The Nehor Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 God may have helped me win a bet I met on Tekken with an investigator on my mission. I was losing badly and called for divine aid and came from behind to trash him completely so he had to keep the Word of Wisdom for a week. 2
Peppermint Patty Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 (edited) It would be a genuine miracle if someone could finish Skyrim in under a month. After a year of playing this I’m about ready to give up. Edited August 29, 2022 by Peppermint Patty

[1] https://www.cnet.com/tech/gaming/super-mario-bros-on-nes-has-a-new-world-record/ In addition to the Apostle Paul’s testimony that it is in God “that we live, move and have our being,” the Savior taught the following: 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. rodheadlee Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 I don't see why not. He helped me build houses every day. 2
Rain Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 "Can" He? Yes. Will He? Yes, but probably the gamer was just in a state of flow that can sometimes feel spiritual. It really depends on what the purpose of God helping on this would be which is impossible for any of us to know. 1
