I only go to Taco Bell twice a year.  It used to be that I would walk to the Stake Center (with a change of clothes in a backpack), watch the session there, go to the nearby Taco Bell, and then walk home.  The total walk is about 7 miles (3.5 miles each way).  During the pandemic, I listen to the session as I walk.
 

I was sad when I heard that the Saturday evening session of conference was going to be cancelled because it meant my semi-annual trek to Taco Bell would also be lost.  Looks like it's back on the menu, though. Rejoicing all around!

It was five sessions before. 
 

There were four general sessions and one priesthood session (in later years alternating from conference to conference with the women’s session).

Interestingly, the church is apparently now doing what Taco Bell has been doing for quite some time.

I don’t know where BYU gets its ice cream, but the milk and chocolate milk come from the Church’s Deseret Dairy, part of Welfare Square in Salt Lake. I know, because I volunteered at the dairy, and we got comped with a serving of chocolate milk bearing the BYU Creamery label. 
 

I haven’t tasted chocolate milk I like better, by the way.

I've seen a couple of facebook friends cite this continuation of an existing meeting as evidence that revelation is alive and well in the church   That seems a very low threshold for defining revelation.

Cancelling and then deciding to continue a conference session within the span of a couple of weeks is a little funny. I mean...really. In and of itself it's really not a big deal. I think the world would continue to revolve just fine whether or not this conference session continued. But does it concern anyone that changes (significant or not) seem to be made with such limited study and prayer that it needs to be reversed within 2 weeks? Surely God didn't change his mind during that span, which means that leadership was solely responsible for the change that was then reversed. I'm seriously surprised because I thought the brethren were more deliberate in their actions than this. But it does make one wonder what else the brethren decide and implement without adequate study and prayer; The November policy, perhaps.

I don't see it as a reversal nor a change of mind. They did away with the former pattern of the Saturday evening session being shared between the Priesthood and RS to more of a general format for all too enjoy. New direction - not a return to the old one.

I think it is easy to become so focused on one or two aspects of a problem that it isn’t until you clear those that your mind is cleared enough to take care some of the other details. So I don’t see an issue with having it change and then change again so quickly.

I think they have possibly gone to announcing changes as soon as decided to avoid leaks or accusations of dishonesty or at least showing there are transparent where they can be.  This is starting to feel like a bit of clutter and over sharing.  If they had waited till closer to announce it, they likely would have had a more polished and complete one time announcement. 
 

I suspect the pendulum will swing back to not so quick if the interest in leaks ever drops enough so as to not raise many concerns about wanting official announcements to be first.

Fair point on the chocolate milk, BYU Creamery's chocolate milk is about the best you can get. I'm told there's this one place up in Rexburg where you can get chocolate milk with potato flakes in it, makes it thicker and creamier, but I am not in Rexburg enough to sample it directly. 

But when it comes to cheese products, I have to hand it to Aggie Creamery, and when it comes to ice cream, the Aggie Creamery also ekes it out. No hate, just taste.

Claiming it's not a reversal is pretty silly.

They announced they would no longer have a Saturday evening session of conference. Now they say that they will have a Saturday evening session of conference.

Well, it was no longer to be the Saturday Priesthood session for one cycle and RS session for the other. These trageted sessions are now done away with which is a massive change. The 'new and improved' version is all-inclusive. To claim it is simply a reversal back to how it was is quite silly. ; )

From my perspective it seems like a case of them making the equivalent of a policy change, based on reasonable evidence and feeling like God was fine with it, and then deciding--after the membership expressed so much sadness over it--to dig deeper into the issue.  

As far as I know, they didn't claim the ending of the fourth session was a decision made after prayer and revelation/inspiration, did they?

It's not reversal back to how it was before they ended it though.  Priesthood and RS sessions are still gone.
