nuclearfuels 229
More of the same: inspirational, uplifting, etc. Do more missionary work online For men: repent. For women: You are Enough. Slow down, prioritize the prize of eternal life Don't be racist. Obey the laws of the land while engaging civilly in the dialogue Fight wars for your government but don't think your country is superior to any other, despite the D&C stating the Constitution was inspired. Hoping for: 1. Polygamy to be allowed for investigators who are currently practicing it in countries where it is legal 2. polygamy being reinstituted in countries where it is legal. The argument that the world population is a big enough number and therefore polygamy isn't needed seems to me to ignore the fact that God wants eternal families. Isn't that on the missionaries and member missionaries? Not really. I'm sure good people practice polygamy and wouldn't end that practice to join a family-oriented Church. 3. Temple on Fremont Island, UT and in Ireland and on a Church-owned ship 4. The value of obeying the laws of God and the laws of the land despite how corrupt public policy and politicians of both parties truly are 5. Church HQ to be made sovereign like the Holy See, Catholic Church HQ, thus granting the separation of church and state advocates what they truly want. Ahab 2,531
Prediction 1: I will feel God's assurance that while he is generally pleased with my conduct and commitment to do his will that there is still some room for improvement. Again. Prediction 2: I will get some more suggestions from him about how I can do better which may or may not agree with some suggestions I have received from some other people who have also noticed that I still am not perfect, yet. Prediction 3: Other people who pay attention to what some of the speakers say during their conference discourses will also get some suggestions for improvements, too, which they may or may not have heard before. 2 1 Link to post
The Nehor 27,148
At least one talk on racism, some mentions of the pandemic with at least one admonition to defer to local professionals and asking people to comply with the Church’s (generally more stringent) restrictions, President Nelson might tell people to get vaccines, one talk about depression and/or mental health, and a special guest appearance by Enoch explaining how to become a Zion people from the guy who succeeded. 1 2 Link to post

Quote President Nelson might tell people to get vaccines, It's a modern day Isaac Barlow and the buggy whip if he does. Quote and a special guest appearance by Enoch explaining how to become a Zion people from the guy who succeeded. I don't think we'd do what he said even if he did appear. I mean, that is what they tried to do in 1800's Utah and look how well we held onto that. Link to post
Popular Post halconero 3,635
I don’t know if it will be this conference, but I suspect we’ll eventually see an organization that is analogous to the Seventy for the Sisters. The Church recently announced the creation of positions analogous to Area Seventies for the sisters, and I think it is a very positive move. FWIW, I think President Nelson has been trying to move us closer to the position envisioned by Joseph Smith for the Relief Society. I’m not sure we’re there yet, and I think that might say more about us than him, but I think we’re moving there. https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/new-international-area-organization-advisers-strengthen-global-church 2 5 Link to post

According to one account he was fundamentally opposed to whipping his teams. That's why he didn't have a whip to begin with. So buying one when the prophet recommended it was a matter of trust and faith. We have many members who are fundamentally opposed to vaccines. If the prophet recommends they get them the circumstances may be similar. 1 Link to post
Popular Post bluebell 28,569
Really, with all the pandemic stuff still going on, I don't think they will announce anything out of the ordinary. I think it'll be business as usual, with a lot of talks about faith and dealing with trials and staying the course, etc. And I'm completely fine with that. But to get into the spirit of the thread I'll predict that they will discuss a plan for getting us back into church every sunday for both hours. 2 3 Link to post
Popular Post MustardSeed 2,077
I'd guess there will be plenty of urging to return to full activation. I'd guess that outside the blessed Utah there has been much peeling off, as there has been in my area. 3 3 Link to post

As it is now, they would have to (pre covid of course) but they would have to travel to Hong Kong to attend the temple and with the Beijing Temple, I doubt they would be allowed to attend there. The Lord might want a Temple there so people driving on the freeway could see Temples on the right and left-hand side. 2BizE 119
A few thoughts on predictions: 1) There have been quite a few people leaving the church. About 50% of Active Millennials are leaving. I suspect more talks about staying in the boat and only studying from church approved resources. 2) Elder Bednar recently gave a talk on miracles, which turned out to be a few ordinary, everyday happenings during Covid. Perhaps there will be more talks on all of these miracles happening during Covid. 3) Probably one talk on how the fast for the Covid pandemic to be stopped, which did not work, will be turned into something else like how the fast helped to develop a vaccine instead. God works in mysterious ways. Link to post
