USU78 4,478
My handicapped oldest son. A choking accident at his care facility. 33 years old. Nobody's fault. Always a choking risk. Can't tell you how many times I cleared his throat. He wasn't supposed to live very long. Such a sweet disposition. Such a stinker. Like the time he was faking the severity of an ankle injury. He got to be in a wheelchair, including in the short bus. Getting wheeled by the cute high school girls. He crawled around the house. We let him. Until I caught him with a tablespoon and the chocolate milk mix. It was all over him and all over the kitchen. I let out a yell. He booked it as fast as he could up the stairs to his room and slammed the door. Such a stinker. Edited August 23, 2020 by USU78 2 Link to post

MiserereNobis 5,108
My deepest condolences, USU. I cannot know the pain, but I wish you didn't have it. It's a Catholic prayer for those who have passed, but I think LDS will find it acceptable: "Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace." 3 Link to post

Lovely sentiment. I've been ruminating over the spaces between quarks and wondering where in there the finer matter of which the spirit is made might be hidden. Is my Jon maybe just over there, aware of me and watching my preparations and my foulups with amused interest? I could always make him laugh with my impromptu compositions and my doggeral and my silly faces. 3 Link to post

Absolutely, we will!!! Thank you, Sir. Link to post

I am not a parent, so perhaps I ought not comment, but I know the "waiting" won't be easy. That's the paradox of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ: It makes our separation from loved ones both easier and harder all at once. Easier, because we know we will be reunited with them; harder, because it makes our relationships with them in this sphere so much deeper and richer. My deepest condolences to you and yours, but hold fast to that hope for a joyous reunion. 2 Link to post
