May be too expensive to do if you are planning to chip her soon (chipping is better in case she loses the collar of course). Actually, she doesn't wear a collar as she is an indoor only cat... that's why I want her chipped so that if for some reason she does happen to get outside, she has an ID... I'll get her one of these days and just head to the vet and board her with them so they can work on her... GG Edited August 17, 2020 by Garden Girl 2 Link to comment

Popular Post Rain
My friend was moving from San Diego to Missouri. She stopped at my house for a few days in Salt Lake with her friend and 2 or 3 cats. The morning she was leaving one was not to be found. We searched everywhere. We even looked in the deep freezer just in case. We were pretty sure she hadn't left her bedroom, but the room is small and only had a bed, closet and TV tray in it. We checked under the bed and in the closet multiple times. Finally she was needing to leave and she was so distraught about leaving her cat. I felt I should check under the bed one more time, but if I remember right, this time we pulled the bed apart. That cat had torn away the delicate material that covers the underside of the box springs and crawled inside of it. 7 Link to comment
mnn727
We were missing one of our cats for a day and a half just last week. In the night we heard scratching from the closet (inside the closet) opened the door and out she came. 3 Link to comment
Garden Girl
I've never had a cat as skittish as my Susie... my previous cat... Bob... used to be curious and would come out to see who was here. He got used to my home teachers, and he loved women so he'd come out when my visiting teachers were here... but with Susie if anyone comes to the door, she gets low to the floor and just skulks into the bedroom as fast as she can. She's under the bed and won't be out for hours... (two brethren brought the sacrament in to me... wonderful). No word yet on being able to attend Church... GG Link to comment

Stargazer
Our young cat, Kirk, got run over by a car last week. His brother, Spock, has lost his playmate. My wife the cat lady is rather distraught over it. I'm not happy either. Sigh. I liked that cat. Yes, they're named after Star Trek characters. 2 Link to comment

I know how pets can be part of the family, and in this case for Spock's family as well. Link to comment

Garden Girl
I hope, Stargazer, that if you decide to get another cat that you will try the local shelter... I got my Susie from the shelter in Feb and she is wonderful... She's funny... Loving... and really pretty. GG 1 Link to comment

I'm so sorry for your loss. They may be animals but they are family and it's hard to lose them. Poor Spock must be distraught. 😟 Edited September 2, 2020 by sheilauk Link to comment

bluebell
My cat Steve decided that the screen on my living room window didn’t offer enough outside access and made adjustments. His nickname isn’t jerkface for nothing. Edited September 2, 2020 by bluebell 4 Link to comment

Or maybe he used a catapult, but that would be catastrophic if he landed on a catamaran, a caterer, cathedral or a Catholic church. The poor animal would be catatonic. 5 Link to comment

InCognitus
Based on an Elder's Quorum study of Elder Oaks' conference talk today, I thought of this picture I had taken of our cat from several years ago. As Elder Oaks says (quoting Jesus from Matthew 5:44): Edited October 19, 2020 by InCognitus Made the caption part of the photo 2 Link to comment
