Popular Post Garden Girl
It is 9:30 P.M. The fireworks on the Bay will soon start... I just watched the most beautiful. awe-inspiring sunset I've seen in a long time... All the people lined up along the Bay to watch the fireworks have been given a real treat... the whole sky was fire red and orange... I imagine there was more than one gasp and tears at the sight of it... the power... the reminder of a heavenly realm, no matter what a person's faith... one can't see such beauty and not feel humbled and small against such immensity... Stargazer
We've been getting some gorgeous sunsets here in Britain lately, too. I wonder if the Kilauea volcano's current increased eruption is helping to color them? For the first time in many years I have missed 4th of July fireworks! For some reason they don't celebrate the holiday in the UK. Something to do with George III, I suppose. Here's a sunset from last week. The red was deeper than the photo shows, and it had a 3-D look that doesn't come across in the photo. There was also a distinct sun pillar that doesn't show very well here.
