Anxiety and depression

Recommended Posts

Just curious what those of you who have this do to cope, mine has been getting out of hand lately, dangerously out of hand.

I will leave this open for now but do not rely on other posters for help with serious medical conditions. Please see a doctor.

Check into a hospital when it gets dangerous.

Mostly, sleeping, eating right, exercise and service and just plain enduring.   But sometimes I do use B-12 and a lot of time Vitamin D.

Oh, and sometimes binge watching comedy and going with the laughs, or listening to soaring and inspiring music, even dancing to it.

I'm finally seeing the bishop tomorrow provided the night shift doesn't destroy me, I have enough trouble sleeping through the night,  even worse through the day.  Hope he can help.

My husband was having panic attacks so often that he was sent home from work till he had a handle on things.

There is no one thing fits all, not even one thing fitting one person all the time.

Things that have helped him - doctors visits and meds, blessings, reading the scriptures, eating well, asking himself how bad can it get and accepting the answer. Right now, exercise is his number one thing.

You really need to find out what works for you. Sometimes that means you need to talk with professionals to figure out what those things are.

Lucky husband, he has someone that cares.  I have a better support network not but it still isn't the best hence why I'm going back to a ward.  Half the time I can't even stand myself.

If you do not think you can make it through the night, then call your VTer/HTer now and ask them to stay with you or find someone who will.   Better yet, have them take you to the hospital (you could also call 211 -- in most communities those who answer are trained in talking people through emotional and mental health crises).

I'm not a baptised member and just moved.  I was in the process, mom went to byuh but all hell let loose and had to move,  still putting things back together

Thinking of you poptart.  There are qualities about you that you are not recognizing  Just know you have value and whatever you endure and get help with..will be so worth it.

Hugs..

I use videos and a lot of computer games.  It will probably make me sick to think about in 30 years how much time I have invested in such (atcleast not money, I do free or scavenge my kids' games), but I try the meds and these have less side effects.  Though I talk to my doctors and give anything they suggest a chance.  They are also frustrated I respond well to only three meds out of probably close to a hundred I have tried over my lifetime and two of these I have to be very careful with.

Make sure you get tested thoroughly.  I was labeled as borderline normal on thyroid for decades, wished Inhad pushed for a specialist earlier as when I finally crossed the line it has helped tremendously (exercise finally makes a difference), but still on low dose and timing is everything, days I seem to absorb too much I can be a basketcase.

I was also very low in Vitamin D.  I use magnesium to help relax at night and for my neuropathy.  A multivitamin and mineral because I am too tired to eat right many days.  Probably OD on that stuff.  Should look into low dose vitamins, but there is this one expensive brand that I can't figure out what is helping, but it really cuts down on my restless legs so I can sleep and not overdo my can't live without meds.  So frustrating when I know most of it goes down the plumbing.

I opened this thread thinking I'd see a picture of my wife who suffers from both. Please message me for any advice but note that what an administrator of this site typed in. I would say you ARE in need if professional medical help.

Medical help PRONTO!

Not stsnding yourself I'd say is a symptom of your depression which is probably teiggered by your anxiety. That's what my wife has and it gies back her female line for generations. There's great help out there but it may take some trial and error. Be patient but get on it ASAP.

Thoughts and prayers, sister.

Excellent.   Friendly wards can be quite fun.  Even less friendly wards can be, but you have to work harder.

Considering what i'm going through i need as little hastle as possible right now.  What amazed me was how they willingly threw money at non members for trips to Nauvoo.

By the way, anyone know if the old masonic lodge is still there?

Thats the one.  Joseph Smith was raised to a master mason in one day which is quite rare.  Funny how a lot of people know nothing of Smith's and Brigham Youngs masonic roots.

Yet another claim with little backing.
The masonic traditions in Nauvoo are well known.    Almost every book on the subject mentions Joseph's foray into masonry.
