Bill “Papa” Lee
I have noticed that when typing threads or replies that double spacing occurs. Example: While trying to reply to a thread I used a poem to make my point. Between each line when hitting the return key it appeared double spaced. Why? Also how do I repair this? Any suggestions? bluebell
I think it's just the formatting of the new board. I can see how it would be annoying when quoting poetry. Link to comment
Whiskeypete
Depending on the site formatting, Oftentimes a Shift-Enter will do a single space. It looks like it works here. At least it does for me. Edited December 30, 2015 by Whiskeypete Link to comment
sunstoned
I have noticed the same thing, and I think the spacing issue started after the board update. Link to comment
The Nehor
Double spacing is an important thing to learn early. It got me through so many High School and College papers. 1 Link to comment
Guest
Let me trying this on m laptop The righteous say, we rise again. The Godless say, this is the end. The foolish say, I do not know? The dying say, just let me go! From the poem, “Across the Hills” Lee Link to comment
Guest
OK...Let me try a full sentence or comments to try a natural return and see how it works. Beyond this I am at a lose as to the means to quote poetry or lyrics. So here is hoping that I can figure this out. However with poetry or lyrics one does not type in the standard sentence structure. Calm
Try cutting and pasting. Spacing using the space bar might work, testing here to see. It works in the replying mode. The actual response is wider however, so it doesn't work. Edited January 4, 2016 by Calm Link to comment
JAHS
Using the Shift/Enter keys together works for me. Edited January 4, 2016 by JAHS Link to comment
Calm
Testing not for me, but I am on my ipad which proably doesn't allow combining keys. Link to comment
