BookofMormonLuvr
Today I turn 40, as I sit contemplating a few things came to me: Here are a couple of scriptures I would like to incorporate more full into my spiritual walk:1) "And now, as ye are desirous to come into the fold of God, and to be called his people, and are willing to bear one another's burdens, that they may be light;Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times, and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life" (Mosiah 9 (RLDS)** This is the essence of Christian religion and living. Too often we let creeds, doctrines, history get in the way of being what we are called to be: The Family of Christ. I choose to love God and my brothers and sisters no matter what perceived obstacles could separate us.2) "But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. (Titus 3)** I am done being a religious apologist. I have no more desire to argue, contend, or even justify my beliefs to anyone, and have no desire to make others justify their beliefs to me. I want to live in love (see above) and let God overcome any disagreement we might have in His own due time. Meanwhile, I just want to love, fellowship, work, and worship together. Link to comment

Garden Girl
I liked your "thoughts"...You made me think back to when I turned 40 (34 years ago)... as I think back, I see that my "prime" was between age 40 - 50. That's when I feel I was at my "peak" everything... now here I am an old woman with numerous challenges of health and circumstances, i.e., widowed, alone, numerous health issues... my sis who is 77 lives almost 2,000 miles away with her family. I live here in the wilds of the Oregon coast with my cat, Bob, as my dear companion. Thank goodness I had the good sense to turn my life around at age 55 and return to the Church and gospel because it is here, as a disciple of Christ, that I am truly happy and at peace... Good wishes on your 40th... from the beach on a high, overcast late spring day... summer will soon be here... another season of my life... GG Edited June 6, 2015 by Garden Girl 3 Link to comment
