EllenMaksoud Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I am against most beauty pageants, and most certainly against women in the Military in any but the most non combat roles, not because of the danger of combat, but because of the danger her fellow soldiers pose. And, if we bothered to think about Anthropology a little, we would realize that the very physiology of a male combat soldier makes him quite dangerous to women around him. So, this morning I happened upon the URL for ms veteran america. It is astonishing to me how many female soldiers have lost limbs in combat. I just don't know what to say...
thesometimesaint Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 War isn't good for men, women, children, and other living things. Long gone are the days when military service was dependent on physical strength. Women add a great deal of high quality service, skill, and professionalism to our military. It was a absolute pleasure to work with and under the command of women while I was in the USAF. My mother served in the WAAC of WW2. She was the Intelligence Officer for a Squadron of bombers based out of a base just outside of London; England. She served during the Blitz and the V1 and V2 bombing campaigns of the NAZIs. I am proud of her service, and to be her son. 1

She was with a crew (men and women) putting together aircraft for use in WW2... She was able to be the sole support of her two little girls (my dad had run off and left her without any support for his children). When I see that popular poster of a woman with a bandana around her hair and her sleeves rolled up, saying, We Can Do It!, I think... yeah, that was my mom... GG 2
