theplains
I'm supposing this pageant is similar in display to the Manti Pageant. I have read oneparticular review on the Internet by a non-Mormon entitled "Manti Pageant Review: TheMormon Myth", It seems to lend strong evidence the visitor is not presented with all fact.I was wondering if there was an LDS version of a review of this pageant. Thanks,Jim Link to comment

The musical was written by the creators of "South Park" who are not members of the LDS Church. The creators claim to have based some of their material on their personal experience attending "The Hill Cumorah Pageant" in Palmyra, NY; however, it would be inaccurate to characterize the "musical" as a "pageant." While LDS pageants have as their goal to affirm and uplift through a Gospel-oriented message, this musical has been universally described (and praised) as blasphemous and pure religious satire. You can read two such reviews here:http://theater.nytimes.com/2011/03/25/theater/reviews/the-book-of-mormon-at-eugene-oneill-theater-review.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0http://www.huffingtonpost.com/valerie-frankel/god-must-be-crazy-the-boo_b_832394.htmlA somewhat alternative review can be found here:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/danielle-tumminio/dont-judge-a-book-of-mormon-by-its-cover-how-mormons-are-discovering-the-musical-as-a-conversion-tool_b_3267252.htmlThere are dozens of reviews that were either written by members of the LDS Church or that quote their reactions to the musical. Calm
Theplains, I am sure you will be able to find plenty of reviews online. Here is one former pageant player's site for a general description:http://hillcumorah.net/hillcumorahpageant/ Link to comment
halconero
Good reminder of the need for more member missionary work. It feels awkward saying "Trey Parker and Matt Stone have done more for the salvation of men in this world, than many other men that ever lived in it." Link to comment
