Birthday Wish List 2013

Recommended Posts

I'm half-way to 73 from 72... December...

My list:

1) I need a vacation... somewhere exotic. White sands, turquoise water, swaying palms... *

2) To continue to keep my wits, and continue to be independent.

Duncan... talk about not being able to remember things. I actually do pretty good... better than most. What bothers me most is when I'm talking and lose my thought... I find that sometimes in conversation if I don't practically blurt something right out I lose it. Makes me so mad. Some time later I'll remember what I was trying to say. Frustrating.

GG

* edit to add (5/9) -- I keep forgetting that people come to Lincoln City for vacation... for the beach, the lake, hiking trails, the casino with its entertainment, deep sea fishing, art galleries, antique shops, kite festival etc. But I still need the warmer beach... the Pac Northwest beaches are so different than the tropical beaches with their warm, turquoise water....

Oh and a boat that runs, the two I have are older than dirt. Now that I am living on the lake again, not having one aches.

I bet the scouts could use a summer project. Why don't you invite them over and teach them how to build a boat for you?

that SO happens to me! I dunno maybe my minds works in overdrive but it seems like I can't spit the words out fast enough and my speech is all screwy mclouie trying to remember what I was trying to say but it comes out all weird like sometimes. I remember once at a party and man alive I was forgettiing words and someone asked me if I was having a stroke or some physical problem! um, no, just my mind and tongue aren't in sync!

Turning 21 this Friday! Watching the midnight showing of Iron Man 3 with some buddies tomorrow night, and then on Friday I'll be hanging out with the family and other friends, followed by a date that night. And I'm off work that day! Should be a good time. I'd like a new laptop for school, but time spent with some really cool people (as well as a big heaping bowl or five of my mom's homemade chili) is good enough for me. :)

One more golden summer where my legs and lungs let me pick em up and put em down. And if the good Lord is in a forbearing mood, feeling at least decent through BYU's home football schedule. After that, I'm all his, though I hope he doesn't take me back at Christmas, just because it's hard enough for my wife to celebrate it already, having had a couple of other rough things happen at the end of December.

I know just what you mean... I've asked the Lord for a few more good years... I'm actually ready mentally, emotionally, and hopefully spiritually to go home. And I hope that when I pass through the veil that my eternal family and dear husband are waiting for me... speaking of not wanting to go in December...

My dear one died Dec 26, and my holidays have never been the same. I've gone from someone who loved December because of my birthday, and Christmas, to someone who hasn't had one shred of Christmas for the past 14 years. I used to decorate our home so beautifully and invite friends in... there was never a more empty feeling than when I started taking the Christmas tree down the day after my husband was gone... and I had to hurry because I was flying down to So Cal where he was being shipped for burial and I didn't want to come home to the empty house all decorated...

I don't ask much, just something little. I only want someone like this woman to walk into my life and ask me to marry her. I really don't ask for much.

Hello Urroner...

Yes, and what a lovely woman she is... almost every man has a similar picture in his mind of what he'd like... I was the same way when I was younger, growing up on the beaches of So Cal... I was fortunate to be considered pretty, and was more interested in the fellows that were tanned, blue eyed, with sun bleached hair, great build... and then I grew up. Matured I should say... when I went away to college and for the first time became really acquainted with students from all over... many that could be considered plain Janes or Joes... thankfully I took the time to take a closer look at those boys and girls who were different than those So Cal kids I ran around with... what did I find? Some of them were quite plain, but not being able to depend on looks had developed other qualities such as terrific personalities or senses of humor... interesting and intelligent in numerous ways... The more I knew them, the less I noticed their plainness...

This is not to say that the lovely lady you wish for does not have wonderful qualities... but I would hope you wouldn't pass over the plain Jane with mousy hair... but be willing to give her a chance along with the prettier ladies... there might just be a "diamond in the rough" so to speak... just waiting for some man to put aside his fantasy to really look at her...

from the beach on a lovely May day... GG

GG, since I'm hitting the big six ooooooooh in less than 45 days and realizing that time hasn't been that sweet to my face, I realize that my chance of having a young redhead becoming twitterpated with me is less than zero, I'll just have to wait until i meet somebody who looks like that because I'm totally in love with her. Love makes great beer goggles and that's my only hope for somebody looking past my lack of good looks.

Sometimes I get bummed out because I'm so fast approaching 73... 6 more months... and sometimes I wish I was 10 - 15 years younger because there's several fellows on this board from their posts that I'd like to know better :o ... I have become appalled at how fast age is starting to creep up on me... Ah well... sigh...

Don't forget, the formula for determining what constitutes old age: Your current age plus fifteen years.
