I brought up something as an aside in the Book of Abraham post to explain where I was coming from and it seems to derail the thread, so I'm starting it here and hoping to get back to the point in the Abraham thread. I expressed my struggle becuase it seems to me that the methodology of a personal witness from God that something is true or untrue seems to be unreliable because multiple people using that same methodology can come up with different answers.
