bstone
The first mormon president of a country, may not be Mitt Romney. The elections in Mali, West Africa, has an LDS person running for the office of president. His name is Yeah Samake. He is a BYU graduate and convert to the Church. He is needing financial help to run. You can learn more about him at this website: First LDS President of MaliThanks! 2 Link to comment
bstone
Yeah Samake actually has a pretty good following from the people of Mali. Could be an interesting race, especially where he is a Mormon, running in a 90% Muslim country. Link to comment
bstone
Yeah Samake, having spent several months in Utah, is now back in Mali following up on his majoral duties and campaigning. He is coming back to Utah in October. If you read French, you can follow his Facebook page here: Yeah Samake Facebook. Link to comment
Nathair/|\
Has there ever been a Mormon head of state before? I heard a rumor that the King of Tonga was one, but I have no idea if that is true. Link to comment
