BCSpace
God came to me when I was confused and lost, alone, afraid and upset. He told me â?? through prayer â?? that I had nothing at all to be afraid of, and that I was home; I just needed to do a little house cleaning in my mind. I believe that all people, intrinsically, know the truth. I believe that is why Christianity scares people so much. It reminds them of their conscience, which we all possess. Conscience tells us right from wrong and is a guide by which we can grow and become stronger and freer human beings. Healing from sin and ignorance is always possible, but the first thing anyone must do is get out of the mentalities that divide and conquer humanity. .............................Homosexuality took almost 16 years of my life and compromised them with one lie or another, perpetuated through national media targeted at children. In European countries, homosexuality is considered so normal that grade-school children are being provided "gay" children's books as required reading in public schools. Poland, a country all-too familiar with the destruction of its people by outside influences, is bravely attempting to stop the European Union from indoctrinating its children with homosexual propaganda. In response, the European Union has called the prime minister of Poland "repulsive." I was repulsive for quite some time; I am still dealing with all of my guilt. As a leader in the "gay rights" movement, I was given the opportunity to address the public many times. If I could take back some of the things I said, I would. Now I know that homosexuality is lust and pornography wrapped into one. I'll never let anybody try to convince me otherwise, no matter how slick their tongues or how sad their story. I have seen it. I know the truth. God gave us truth for a reason. It exists so we could be ourselves. It exists so we could share that perfect self with the world, to make the perfect world. These are not fanciful schemes or strange ideals â?? these are the Truth. Healing from the sins of the world will not happen in an instant; but, it will happen â?? if we don't pridefully block it. God wins in the end, in case you didn't know. How a 'gay rights' leader became straight A true hero for our time. Link to comment

BCSpace
Besides the testimony against the homosexual lifestyle choice, I thought his intuitive understanding of a principle explicitly taught in the BoM (the light of Christ) to be fascinating. He said:"I believe that all people, intrinsically, know the truth. I believe that is why Christianity scares people so much. It reminds them of their conscience, which we all possess." Link to comment

In response, the European Union has called the prime minister of Poland "repulsive."The EU has not called the PM of Poland repulsive. France's MEP, Rour Martine described the legislation proposed in Poland as repulsive. Reportedly, the proposed legislation would make it illegal to discuss homosexuality in schools and provide for the dismissal of homosexual teachers. I suspect that her choice of words may have been a reaction to the Polish PM's characterization of adoption by homosexuals as repulsive.I believe that all people, intrinsically, know the truth. I believe that is why Christianity scares people so much. It reminds them of their conscience, which we all possess. Uh huh... and why is that homosexuality scares some people so much? cacheman Link to comment
BCSpace
A related article.....In fact, he writes in his WND column today, "'coming out' from under the influence of the homosexual mindset was the most liberating, beautiful and astonishing thing I've ever experienced in my entire life." Before "coming out" in his column today, Glatze contacted WND Managing Editor David Kupelian after reading his book, "The Marketing of Evil, which Glatze said "has given me so much help in my process of healing from the profound influences of evil in our current society." "There is nothing that would give me more pleasure," he wrote to Kupelian, "than to say the Truth about 'homosexuality' and atone for my sins in that regard." Glatze's transformation calls to mind that of another prominent "gay" magazine publisher who also has renounced her former lifestyle. Lesbian activist Charlene Cothran, longtime publisher of Venus magazine, became a Christian and gave her magazine a new mission "to encourage, educate and assist those who desire to leave a life of homosexuality." She adds: "Our ultimate mission is to win souls for Christ, and to do so by showing love to all God's people." 'Gay'-rights leader quits homosexuality Link to comment

SolarPowered
A true hero for our time.Yeah....he changed his sexual orientation. What an achievement No, I think what BC is saying is that he is a hero for, in the face of what must be incredible opposition from his former associates, coming forth and publicly opposing the evil they've been doing. selek
Yeah....he changed his sexual orientation. What an achievement Considering the tremendous amount of propoganda out there trying to convince us that such orientations are innate, insurmountable, and morally equivalent, I think your sarcasm is misplaced. If a homosexual orientation is everything that it's proponents claim (and human sexuality is as voluntary and well thought out as beasts rutting in the field), then his achievement is truly noteworthy. If it is not, then his actions put paid to the lie the hedonists and secularists have been trying to force on our children. In either case, a noteworthy achievement. cacheman
I'm a little surprised at the people lauding this guy as a hero. It seems to me that he is an ex-member of an organization that feels he has seen the light, and has now made it his mission to publically castigate the organization and the people it represents, all the while distorting facts in a way that bolsters his case to make the "others" look bad. Usually, these types of people aren't taken seriously on this board.cacheman Link to comment

This is the fact distortion:the European Union has called the prime minister of Poland "repulsive." The statement is false. The EU did not call anyone repulsive. One person in the EU called the proposed legislation repulsive. The legislation is not a person.Hope that clears it up.. cacheman Link to comment
BCSpace
Hope that clears it up..No, you did not read the statement which was...."Other than quibbling over who called what 'repulsive', you have not given any evidence of fact distortion." Frankly, he was quite right in his assessment. But that aside, how has he distorted facts on homosexuality? Link to comment

cacheman
Wow, that's a pretty ugly assertion. Would you care to back it up with some actual facts?I just did. The facts are that one person called the proposed legislation revolting. He stated that the EU called the PM of Poland revolting. It's a very different charge which takes what one person said about some documents and makes it look like an entire group of people (the EU) said it about another person (the PM of Poland). Can you seriously not see that? You tell me. Is it a factual statement to say that the EU called the PM of Poland revolting? But that aside, how has he distorted facts on homosexuality?I'm not an expert on homosexuality, but I'm leery of anyone who speaks for the motivations of all individuals in their former "group".cacheman Link to comment

cacheman
Are you saying that the best place to get the skinny on Mormonism isn't RfM?! LOL. Exactly. To put this "quibble" into perspective, it would be like an ex-LDS publishing in an anti-mormon publication that Jesus told Joseph Smith that all churches were an abomination, when in fact Jesus is said to have stated that the "creeds" were the abomination. These kind of distorted and misleading statements are often intentional, and serve the purpose of creating more division and enflaming the situation.Furthermore, if this hypothetical ex-LDS began negatively characterizing the motivations for belief, and assigning those motivations to all LDS, you would think he would lose a bit of credibility. Maybe not though....cacheman Link to comment
cacheman
So nothing was distorted in order to make someone look bad. That's a relief.Let me say it simpler. He said that the EU said something mean even though they did not actally say it. This makes them look bad.If you were referring to his comments about homosexuality, then I have no proof that he has distorted anything. I have no reason though to take his word concerning his generalized descriptions. Why should I?cacheman Link to comment

Phillistine
I can't in any part of my imagination conceive or understand homosexuality, but I do know people who would willingly choose to be otherwise if they could. I also know a few that weren't given the opportunity to choose - someone chose their gender for them shortly after birth. While gender may be an intrinsic part of the spirit, we must recognize that the flesh is imperfect. There are truly androgenous individuals. I know this is different than homosexuality but it is important for LDS folk to recognize that the issue isn't about "disgusting people", it's about people. While some may have made decisions in their lifetime that led them to this end, there are those that are there not by choice. We don't have the omniscience to judge righteously. I doubt very much that Jesus Christ would be a "gay basher" if he were here. That being said, some of the greatest evil is perpetrated in the battlefield over converts. Spiritually beheading someone doesn't mean they are now on our side. The greatest victory is in providing selfless service to those that need it. Christianity is about the helping, not browbeating. For those that would win converts to homosexuality - WHY? The victory is completely hollow. For those precious few who are able to change their orientation, my deepest congratulations. To those who don't, you deserve to live your life with as much peace and harmony as possible. To those that make an issue of homosexuality for the sake of self-agrandizement, find something better to do! Link to comment
