  1. I never said be silent. In fact, just the opposite. The way we live our lives everyday can speak volumes about the gospel without ever having to actually have a discussion. I’m saying live loud and proud! Let the gospel shine. Soon or a later, if they’re actually interested in why you seem so happy and content, you can tell them how the gospel has helped you understand why we are here. It’s been my experience that trying to push or persuade someone you love into believing the gospel never works. Trust the gospel and you’ll speak volumes through your actions. Gordon B Hinckley said, “ The lives of our people must become the only meaningful expression of our faith and, in fact, therefore the symbol of our worship.”
  2. His first sentence tells us 4 of the 6 kids want nothing to do with the church. A zoom FHE is probably a terrible idea. If Maestrophil is actually interested in trying to convince his/her children the church and its teachings would be beneficial in their lives, the best thing to do would be to live a happy and positive lifestyle for all 6 children to see. Push absolutely nothing on them. Never bring up any subject about the church unless asked. Shower them with unconditional love and make sure you’re always in a position to answer questions when asked.
  3. If you want to maintain a healthy and long lasting relationship with your grown children I would suggest not offering advice unless asked. Especially when it comes to religion & politics. Oh, I forgot, also grilling/Barbecuing, never give advice on how to cook meat for an extended amount of time.
  4. Yes, this is exactly what I was taught. Being sealed is just one step we take so we can live with our heavenly parents again in the Celestial Kingdom. Spirits banished to lower kingdoms have their sexual organs removed since they won’t be needed anymore. Don’t ask me where they’re stored after removal, I have no idea.
  5. You should contact Atlantic Mike. Aren’t you guys good friends?
  6. Changes will be coming in 2023, major changes. I heard garments will no longer be required for temple worthy members.
  7. I have at least $1500 worth of church related books. I’ll sale it all if you want. What are you looking for?
  8. Fortunately when we reach the Celestial Kingdom we will all be naked.
  9. My fault. I was under the impression that Brigham Young said “ Why are so many of the inhabitants of the earth cursed with a skin of blackness? It comes in consequence of their fathers rejecting the power of the holy priesthood, and the law of God. They will go down to death. And when all the rest of the children have received their blessings in the holy priesthood, then that curse will be removed from the seed of Cain” If the curse (dark skin) is removed, does that mean they will be white again?
  10. According to Mormon doctrine, shouldn’t we all be a white and delightsome people?
  11. You might want to be more humble when talking about protesters. Most are fellow Christians, correct? Admitting to having a superiority complex is a great first step in humbling yourself before God. I changed Pharisee to Mormon and tax collector to Protester. Tell me what you think of the following verses. Am I close? Is this the superiority you feel inside when interacting with protesters outside the temple? Luke 18:9-14 9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable. 10 Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Mormon and the other a protester. 11 The Mormon stood by himself and prayed, God, I thank you that I am not like other people, robbers, evil doers, adulterers, or even like this protester. 12 I fast twice a week and give a 10th of all I get. 13 but the protester stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, God, have mercy on me, a sinner. 14 I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
  12. I agree. Mormons definitely feel superior when interacting with non mormons, not just protesters. It’s part of the appeal of being Mormon. The protesters know this to be the case, that’s why they’re protesting. I think you’re starting to figure this out. Congratulations.
  13. You should be happy critics have the costitutional right to protest outside temple grounds. The freedom they have to protest is the same freedom Joseph Smith started a religion with. Besides, it could be worse. They could be sending their representatives onto private property to knock on millions of front doors to spread the one and only true gospel message. Just be glad the protesters haven’t figured that out yet.
  14. I understand what you’re trying to explain rodheadlee. I also understand you don’t think anyone should be assaulted, man or woman. I think many Americans forget how good we have it here. In other countries women are being stoned to death. In Yemen, women are considered half a witness. In India, road safety rules don’t apply to women. In Saudi Arabia and Morocco, rape victims can be charged with a crime. In 32 countries a woman needs her husband’s permission to apply for a passport. In Israel, a woman needs her husband’s permission to get a divorce. In Nigeria, a husband can hit his wife under section 55 of the penal code to correct her. In Guinea, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Sudan and Egypt, female genital mutilation is still being practiced. Hundreds of laws still exist that worldwide that discriminate against women. Western society and thankfully western men are leading the way in fighting for equality for all women. Many of our brave troops have died for that very purpose.
  15. I think what rodheadlee is trying to convey is western men have gone above and beyond men of other countries such as Afghanistan, China, North Korea and African countries when it comes to protecting women on a personal level and through pro women legislation. Western men should be seen as heroes for fighting for the rights of women around the world.
