  1. Copy and paste from the policy: School staff shall not disclose any information that may reveal a student’s gender identity to others, including parents or guardians and other school staff, unless legally required to do so or unless the student has authorized such disclosure.
  2. Hundreds of transgender youths who had gender reassignment surgery wish they hadn't and want to transition back, says trans rights champion Former transgender patient will tell court that sex change clinic is putting children on 'torturous' path Gender reassignment treatments for young people to get expert review Link are shared for reference and do not represent any particular sentiment of the poster.
  3. https://mobile.twitter.com/BYU/status/1237122209572782080 BYU was contacted by the Utah County Health Department to notify the university that an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 attended a basketball game in the Marriott Center on Feb. 22, 2020. 2/7 Additional information: According to the Utah Department of Health, this does not represent a new case in the state of Utah. The individual was not a member of our campus community. ------------- Not a new case in the State of Utah, so does that mean the Davis County patient was at the BYU game?
  4. Thanks. Sadly, a second person inUtah with it. The person is in Davis County https://kutv.com/news/local/first-coronavirus-case-confirmed-in-utah
  5. Corona virus is/was in Utah as of 3 days ago; "Medical Center in Murray is treating a patient with coronavirus inside a special unit separated from the hospital." though the State Of Utah claims "doesn't have a confirmed case of COVID-19", claiming that since the diagnosis was not made in Utah it is not a confirmed diagnosis in Utah. Broadcast tv, Internet, radio, are all available for use for Conference. If gathering in Conference Center is cancelled, I will feel sad for those who traveled for it.
  6. Just read this from the washingtonpost "Carri Jenkins, a spokesperson for the university, said in an email Thursday that the church’s clarification enables the honor code administrators to better respond to students’ questions. She said the school had not received the clarifying information when the updated honor code was announced."
  7. opps, yes, I missed the last part of the persons statement, so I do not have an opinion as to fear now but not when it was part of the written honor code.
  8. Or should we ask "What is not in the General Handbook" CHI 2 chapter 21 has a section specifically about homosexual behavior. The General Handbook does not contain the same prohibition against homosexual behavior. Now if the CES/BYU standards are aligned with the General Handbook AND the General Handbook does not contain specific prohibitions against homosexual behavior,
  9. IIRC, some of the statements attributed to the HCO were said to be from Kevin Utt - Director of HCO (will look for source, might be a while)

  11. Considering what was attributed to the HCO, the non-denials of the HCO, the statement from a BYU Professor attributing statements to the HCO , General Handbook currently does not contain something like unto "Homosexual behavior violates the commandments of God," as did CHI 2 21.4.6, AND statements from BYU that the change was "To align the Honor Code with the doctrine and policies of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." I do not think it was unreasonable for what people thought.
  12. The full letter has a link to Q&A, any see the Q&A?
  13. Maybe. It either re-establishes the status quo, or there remains an issue regarding "Same-sex romantic behavior" to be examined on a case-by-case basis.
  14. I do not know what would warrant opening a case, that is a case-by-case review by the HCO. As for "no cases are being filed or opened for homosexual behavior", do we know that. At the very least, a Law of Chastity violation would be grounds for a case to be opened.
  15. 100 case 6 deaths, and corona virus is said to have 2% mortality rate, isn't 6 out of 100 a little higher than the expected mortality rate?
  16. I think that is where "dating means different things" and addressed on a "case by case" is headed.
  17. "I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!"

  19. It is likey your tv has bluetooth, I will post a link to the bluetooth headset we have, it can booth AND regular speaker audio at the same time.
  20. Based on a recording purported to be of a BYU IDAHO Administrator, the removal of "homosexual behavior" is a BYU PROVO action and BYU Provo action only. But yes we will have to wait and see.
  21. I think any student, regardless of religions affiliation, in a same-sex marriage would not be permitted to continue at BYU. CES Policies "Live a chaste and virtuous life, including abstaining from any sexual relations outside a marriage between a man and a woman." BYU Provo Conduct policy Conduct All students are required to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the Honor Code. ... Sexual misconduct; ... and any other conduct or action inconsistent with the principles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Honor Code is not permitted. (I th
