Not sure where I heard this but ChatGPT is inaccurate about 20% of the time and ,more concerning, will deny that it is wrong. Seems it has learned gaslighting is a human trait .

Many years ago I was on a flight at night that came near Las Vegas. The pilot flew over the area and we were treated to the bright jewel in the surrounding blackness. I imagine Vegas has expanded considerably in the past 40+ years.

Had the statement been , " religious symbolism " instead of "religious observance " I might have agreed. As a member I am not required to put a steeple on my house. 🤨

Cardston is 88,000 . I think the major concern seems to be the height . 200+ ft Remind me , Calm , how did the MTC building in Provo finally work out ?

The proposed design does seem out of place for its location. Why so big? A new temple in my area is half the size and it will serve at least 6 stakes. Anger erupts in Nevada town as residents resist big Mormon temple (msn.com)

Always remember and never forget that, according to some, Joseph had access to the entire Library of Congress as well as any and all tomes published or unpublished in Europe or elsewhere before 1830 and maybe even after. Do your research ! ( insert correct emoji here )

Gallup Poll Re: The Church has highest rate of attendance
blackstrap replied to smac97's topic in General Discussions
Personal experience shows average attendance is around 50% disregarding a missionary farewell or homecoming. 2/3 seems unusually high. -

Church's 2023 Expenditures in Philanthropic/Humanitarian Relief
blackstrap replied to smac97's topic in General Discussions
Depends on the country. Yes, more resources can be needed and well used in some areas. In others it just goes to line the pockets of corrupt leaders and fuel further conflict. Years ago in Central America, bags of grain were seen of the local markets. These bags were part of humanitarian aid and were clearly label in several languages not to be sold. This aid was stolen by local thieves . -

It's almost as if corruption breeds corruption. IIRC there was recently a scandal involving a UN agency and corruption , hmmm -

Church's 2023 Expenditures in Philanthropic/Humanitarian Relief
blackstrap replied to smac97's topic in General Discussions
One bottleneck is that in some countries the hunger comes because of internal conflict where armed groups will not allow humanitarian aid in to possibly feed opponents. In other places food aid will rot on the docks for lack of ability to distribute it. Throwing money at the problem will just increase corruption and have unintended consequences. -

There is a trend for fewer men and women to want to get married . I suspect this is also happening in the Church. This will affect Church demographics long term.
