  1. I want to go see my mother tomorrow, but it hurts to do so. She will call on Sunday and ask when I am coming up…things have progressed to this point with Alzheimer’s. It tares my heart out to see what is happening to her; we sit and talk in circular conversations.

We are in a catch 22, if we move in with her, I don’t know that she could handle my wife watching the three grandbabies during the day (well one all day now, little Addie starts school in three weeks). None of us can afford to hire someone to help her.

Have any of you been in this same situation?

My Mother-in-law had to be put into a home; her Alzheimer’s is far more advanced. I could not bare doing this to my mother. With both our mother’s the child has become the parent.

    Any advice, please.

The Book, "Still Alice" - a novel by Lisa Genova great help!

  2. As our Liberties continue to fade, I would like to give a BIG heartfelt hug and thank you to my Military friends and citizens for your service in keeping this great country safe, for keeping my friends and family safe and for your unselfish sacrafices, some I cannot begin to comprehend. God Bless you and yours!

  3. Oh, and btw as far as the Sabbath question, I don't have an issue with something like this being continued on the Sabbath given the circumstances, as long as it is a rare occurrence. I for one though wouldn't want to be on that jury and have my holiday weekend ruined.

You could always write a book afterwords and become important! Maybe!

  4. This is the only thing I don’t agree with you on. But, I've already made my explanation as to why. If you know of a situation where they may not be worthy, I believe it’s our duty to bring it up. But ultimately, it’s the decision of the Stake President or Bishop if they call that person or not. They simply take what we bring up after we raise our hand in the negative, and decide. It could be that they would have already repented, and it’s really none of our business. But if they have not, its an opportunity to do so – that’s a good thing! As already mentioned, there are many other scenarios.

I've actually had a bishop explain it to me this way.

Interesting, I'm curious as to why if the higher ministers and leaders "Call" the people to a position as they and only they have the authority to do, why would it matter what the members think? I'm not sure I understand? If anything goes awry with this person and his/her calling do the members get held responsible somehow?
