And less than 20 years later America was sending its sons and daughters to die fighting these people and their ideals, and our sons and daughters are still there fighting.

Less than 20 years from now, my son will be prime age for being sent to die while fighting the current people and ideals that our present President has deemed worthy of armorments and support.

When will the United States learn from its past mistakes.

Our duty as Christians to provide food, shelter and comfort to those in need always exists. We do however need to wise in fulfilling our duties.

How much?  Are all citizens have the same measure of freedom (men and women)?

for the most part Men and Women are treated equally.  Women are able to vote (but only since 2005).   It isn't as equal as western society but women are treated very well and hold important positions.  From my standpoint the biggest difference between Syria and some other Muslim countries is money.   People here have too much to lose if their society degenerates and that keeps society in check.  In Syria they don't have some of the most basic needs being met.
