rodheadlee
Therefore God has not decided that His church is to be run by only 55+ year old white men. God is wiser and better than that. He will never degrade His church to such juvenile limitations. So is God picking these Apostles or not? Link to comment

Calm
CFR. Prove without loose interpretive language that they are the same. If the D&C explicitly makes and substantiates your claim then I'll withdraw. Any other argument is insufficient and unworthy of consideration. So you consider "General Authority" as a scriptural term to be defined by revelation and not an administrative label or community label at all?Why are you in such a argumentive mode today and yesterday? Surely you have seen me post long enough to know I am not trying any 'gotchas'? Link to comment

Calm
If one wants to split hairs then the presidents of Seventy might be GA. However, there is lack of evidence to support such a notion if one were to consider the story of Samuel Smith. Please add clarification to your point of Samuel Smith. Link to comment
Mystery Meat
Given the track record thus far...The ban on blacks and the priesthood was about ignorance and bigotry. No apologetic rationalization has sufficed for a logically thinking sentient being. Oh that we could all be as wise and enlightened as you. Link to comment

Damien the Leper
Please add clarification to your point of Samuel Smith.Samuel was called to be Seventy but was not a GA. The hierarchy of the church has developed beyond the scope of what was outlined in the D&C. If it can be demonstrated that Seventy were GAs in 1844 then I'll gladly withdraw. Link to comment

If I ever get independently wealthy I thought it would be fun to go back and get my PhD in astronomical physics, but after the ringer that is post graduate education, I think I will just pick up a few text books and teach my self. Best of luck to you and remember that it will all be over soon. Link to comment
