volgadon Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 http://www.bahzani.n...er, Peacock.PDFhttp://www.avesta.org/yezidi/peacock.htmIt can be very hard to find credible information on the Yazidis, as most of what is out there is sensationalist rot about how Yazidis worship the devil. Many, including the notorious Alesteir Crowley, muddied the waters. The truth is a lot more interesting, involving gnostic and Muslim teachings, as well as folk beliefs. I've always been fascinated by the Yazidis, finally getting a chance to meet one while on my mission, and we baptised him. That, though, is getting off topic.I wasn't able to hold very detailed conversations on the Yazidis, his Russian being worse than mine, but he did share some good information, about how there were seven angels governing the affairs of the world. The link is to a book by the incomparable Lady Drower, the same Drower of Mandaean fame. Though a little dated, her work is still a classic, one of the few credible sources for their study. 1
