Oh, come on. You are openly defending their behavior by rationalizing about what it wasn't rather than addressing what it was.  When you do that simply saying it's not ok rings hollow.  And unless you are over there objecting to every insult over there you can rightfully be accused of holding double standards.

But we now know that the line is drawn if you are claiming to be active LDS and post unseemly things.  So if there is a poster from MDB who openly claimed to be LDS and posted erotica you would support us in doing what was done to Seattle?   Or is there another rule that would make it not ok?

In addition to pointing out how SGW's summary of what occured is false, I've also pointed out what did happen. Have you read my posts? I've called the behavior that I think was inappropriate things like, "mean" and "uncalled for," so I'm not sure where you are getting this. If it means that much to you, I can quote examples of posts in that thread I think are fine and those I think are not nice and to what degree. I'm not so sanitized that I think no mocking is ever Ok, but I have ideas about what crosses the line.

Just a second ago it seemed like you were drawing the line 180 the opposite. You said this is how they'd reply to an apostate. Nemesis even speculated, "If it was one of them that claimed to be active LDS, they would say its empowering and some guilt ridden shell has been broken and praise the work as a literary masterpiece." Turns out that was wrong, eh? I guess when you talk about the "treatment" you have to have a sense of what that constituted and why. In that spirit:

Did he also post material in the same location admonishing people not to do that? Is he known for writing nasty things about people? Did he reveal embarrassing details about himself? Does his picture lend itself to good joke-material? There's specifics here that make this question hard to answer. But to answer it as best I can, I'm Ok with some ribbing and pointing out hypocrisies and such, but you could go too far, just as some posts in that thread went too far.

I think your posting a link on this site to salacious material authored by you, no matter when it was written, and your solicitation of donations for your apologetic work, shows a lack of common sense and critical thinking skills on your part.  I do think it was unfortunate that a photo of your family was posted on MDB, but it was removed within eighteen minutes, thankfully.  Still, I must agree with Nevo when he notes that you are the author of your own misfortune.  I wish you no ill, but I do not think you have a claim of copyright infringement.  I think that perhaps you have a case of hurt feelings.

So if the author of the misfortune wrote what they posted its ok to spill the beans and they would be harassed and humiliated for going to an attorney.  Juliann was just threatened for even asking if the tables were turned what would happen.

Do you think he doesn't know that and will regret it for the rest of his life?  Why the need to keep rubbing his face in it?  How is that consistent with wishing someone no ill will?

I'm not sure where that came from. In any case, if Juliann is just asking me if a Mormon who posts on MDB came here and was ill-treated simply for posting erotica, no I don't think that's justified. I have no problem with LDS writing erotica in of itself. While I thought SGW has made a series of bad choices, I think his writing shows his humanity and vulnerability and I see nothing wrong with him expressing sexual fantasy. It wasn't skillfully written, but there wasn't anything bad about doing it. But, like I said before, I don't think anyone there was going after him simply because of that fact. It was other things that drew people in, like the apparent hypocrisy. And, just so there is no confusion, I think some people there did get mean-spirited. I condemn it. It helps if you've actually read the thread.

Ive read the thread.  I think a little charity could have been given.  That board has tried to destroy 2 people in less then a week.  When will it stop?  When will the emails stop to family members of people they find on facebook?  These are the things we are talking about and this is what they are harboring.  If the shoe was on the other foot, why would they cry foul and sue?

rules for what?  Christ said "turn the other cheek" and give your cloak also, and love your enemies, do good them that despitefully use and persecute you; I mean what kind of rules are the "lds" looking for? For Anyone who claims to be a follower of Christ, much more so someone who claims to belong to Christ's only true Church, the rules were laid out a long time ago on a hill far away and are found in a collection of books.   And yes, Christ called some people hypocrites, but no one here is Christ, and no one here knows the heart and mind of another person, so that means no one is in a position to call out people the way Christ did.  

And claiming "Well I am mormon and I am only human" is a complete copout. Several, if not many, LDS defenders would have done better to not try and defend the Church at all, because what those defenders currently leave and have left is nothing but a trail of blotches on the name and membership of the Church.
