Thanks for the answer Dan I appreciate it. Is there any date when that happened...also is everything that was in the Book of Commandments in the current D&C or have somethings been taken out of the current D&C that were in the Book of Commandments?

The Book of Commandments for the Government of the Church of Christ was approved by a priesthood conference of the Church on 1 November 1831, and was published in 1833. However, when the Church's printing office in Independence, Missouri, was destroyed by a mob in July 1833, while the book was in production, only a few copies survived. The first edition of the Doctrine and Covenants was published in 1835. The relationship between the Doctrine and Covenants and the Book of Commandments is somewhat complex, largely because many revelations now included in the Doctrine and Covenants had not yet been received by 1833 but also because Joseph Smith felt himself at liberty to include subsequent material in revelations previously received and to delete passages that had been superceded. Robert Woodford wrote a two-volume doctoral dissertation on the subject at BYU quite a few years ago.
