Libs Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 The last sentence there is an "always" not found in the D & C?"that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen""that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen."
Scott Lloyd Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 The last sentence there is an "always" not found in the D & C?"that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen""that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen."No, that's a variation between the sacramental prayers in both the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants.Try again.
Scott Lloyd Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 A fine piece. Here's a bit of trivia that may have escaped the notice of some: The text of the sacrament prayers in the Doctrine and Covenants is not precisely identical to that in the Book of Mormon. There is a difference of one word. Ten sunbeam points to the first person who can identify the difference. No other takers on this yet? Come on. people. All you have to do is open the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants and carefully compare the wording.I guess the day of the trivia buff is in the past.
urroner Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Why "hath" thou sought to besot us with such misery Scott Lloyd, thou beest a scribe who "has" darkened my doorstep never.
blackstrap Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 BoM commandments which He HATHD&C commandments which He HASI am buff, just not trivia buff !
Scott Lloyd Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Kudos to urroner and blackstrap, with urroner having the edge by just moments. For the bonus round, what is the most oft-quoted passage of scripture in the Church?
urroner Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Kudos to urroner and blackstrap, with urroner having the edge by just moments. For the bonus round, what is the most oft-quoted passage of scripture in the Church? Not including the sacramental praryers which are used at least once every week in every ward, but they used to be used three times/ward/Sunday, I would say that the the most quoted scripture in the Church is the First Article of Faith.

The sacrament prayers are the answer I was going for. The context of the discussion gives it away; perhaps you thought it too obvious.
blackstrap Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I guess technically it would be the blessing in the bread as the blessing on the wine is not quoted exactly.
