  1. From Elder Golden " Now I quote for a moment from the Church’s Gospel Topics under the heading “Second Coming of Jesus Christ”: “When the Savior comes again, He will come in power and glory to claim the earth as His kingdom. His Second Coming will mark the beginning of the Millennium. “The Second Coming will be a fearful, mournful time for the wicked, but it will be a day of peace for the righteous. The Lord declared: “‘They that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived—verily I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day. “‘And the earth shall be given unto them for an inheritance; and they shall multiply and wax strong, and their children shall grow up without sin unto salvation. “‘For the Lord shall be in their midst, and his glory shall be upon them, and he will be their king and their lawgiver’ (Doctrine and Covenants 45:57–59).”" "For those who have eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to feel, more than ever before we are required to confront the reality that we are getting ever closer to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ." From Elder Cook "As described in the Gospel Topics article “Agency and Accountability,” “Agency is the ability and privilege God gives us to choose and to act for ourselves.” Thus, agency is at the heart of the personal growth and experience that bless us as we follow the Savior." Glad you agree that Pres. Ballard said we need to read them, but then why would the brethren come out with the GTE and not want the members to read and why not read as per Pres. Ballard's counsel? do you need to be compelled in all things?
  2. Which has been TWICE in General Conference, one by Elder Golden and Elder Cook. in 2021 Conference. I guess being from a "power Mormon family" you are too busy basking in the glow of your own light not to notice that. Besides of which it was done by then Pres. Ballard in 2016, were you too busy eating at Dunkin Donuts not to notice? I thought you weren't active so who really cares what you think anyways
  3. Elder Marcus B. Nash is Executive the Director with a David Weidman as managing director. https://www.thechurchnews.com/2021/7/22/23218269/inside-church-headquarters-missionary-executive-council-temple-family-history-priesthood-family Elder Kevin R. Duncan is in charge of the Temple admin Dept. Given that the IIRC an Apostle oversee each of these departments, with the First Presidency being responsible for all of it. https://www.thechurchnews.com/2021/10/12/23265586/church-news-podcast-reimagining-missionary-work-elder-nash
  4. if you gain a testimony and attend the class then you can find out for yourself and that is significant
  5. that's true or anyone's interpretation of it, mine for you or you for mine meaning if you are say involved in a SSM here or "sociality" here this verse says you would be SSM in the next life or have "eternal glory" it's the same here as it is the same over. Or as it says in the Book of Mormon, Alma 34:34 the same spirit that you die with will have "power to possess" you in the next life" besides arguing against temple work why wouldn't this apply to sexuality? as opposed to what? a state of non being like asexuality? I get that, as God is the father of billions if not more spirits but sexuality isn't your body either, you could make someone a eunuch and they would still sexually desire someone true, as 99.9% of people who have never heard of the church, in this life, or who have a negative opinion of it will find out the truth in the next life, Wonderful "opportunity" for almost everyone, it is like God doesn't think too much of his plan for his children, or his children choosing his plan, it's offered to hardly anyone, ever really. It's like you're gay here, die, go to the next world and be told well, there's a test you need to see if you would be obedient but the same sociality you had there or the same spirit you possessed there exists here, so you've failed it and so your punishment is having your sexuality changed, good luck! but let's give it a go because "eternal glory" hangs in the balance but actually you do "speak to such imponderables", see below even the Lord said it isn't good for man to be alone but apparently he told his church something else
  6. You suspect? would you bet "eternal glory" on a suspicion? besides of which the Lord didn't say "eternal sociality" he said the same sociality that exists here, implying in mortality. Then God says that same sociality will exist in the next life, if it's true for us heterosexuals why wouldn't it be true for homosexuals? the verse doesn't rule out eternal glory for homosexuals, it seems it's for everyone. Would someone want to be obedient to a God that knew, in pre-mortality, that someone would be gay or have SSA attraction in this life and yet after this life, according to LDS leaders won't be gay anymore? He knew ahead of time? That seems callous. What was the point of them being gay in this life? Would anyone want have their sexuality for being obedient? I can assure you I wouldn't want to have my sexuality changed in the next life and I wouldn't want to be obedient to a God that would change my sexuality, that seems absolutely crazy to me and what a waste of time sexuality was in this life. You be obedient and then die and all of sudden I am sexually attracted to men? is absolutely crazy
  7. The Lord also revealed in D&C 130:2, "And that same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there, only it will be coupled with eternal glory, which glory we do not now enjoy." Why can't the "same sociality" that exists for homosexuals here exist in the next life? and "coupled with eternal glory"?
  8. one thing too, this may have been brought up, but when I say "Deck-al" it's more pronounced "Deck-ull" whereas people who say "dee-cal" it's more pronounced, "dee-cal" but not like "call"
  9. you obviously missed it but your "opinion" is completely worthless to me so whatever take care or take off
  10. you don't do well to realize it isn't 1955 anymore and your anecdotal evidence fallacy doesn't serve you well
  11. in other words, they don't follow the book but do follow the book because you grew up in Stake Pres. house, got it.
  12. that doesn't mean anything, you even said yourself that "I hope you don’t believe majority actually follow the book. I have lived in the inner workings at higher than sp level and I can say with utmost confidence the manual is nothing but a guideline. The odds of being held to account for not following it are pretty low. "
  13. who cares what they did 50 years ago? things change, if they ever did it at all you are still wrong
  14. I am saying you're wrong. Why on God's green earth would a Stake President review someone's PB? it isn't any of their business
  15. that isn't true at all. Someone asked this at Priesthood leadership meeting sometime ago and the Seventy said nope they don't. The Patriarch gets interviewed or met with by the Stake President but they don't review the blessings given. Your info is outdated
  16. It would be worthwhile to know that Keith Wilcox was a partner with Emil B. Fetzer and two others partners named Beecher and Markham, to form Markham Beecher Fetzer and Wilcox Inc. Architects. So, I suspect that Fetzer was the lead architect on the Provo and Ogden temples, plus the Washington DC Temples, Keith Wilcox was also involved in their designs
  17. none of this registers with me or has any semblance of reality, Pres. Nelson's grandson served his mission here, and it is not a "cool mission" I can assure you and I live in a "foreign" country.
  18. so compared to the worldwide church an extremely small sample size. I thought you meant you had some worldwide exposure to what patriarchs are doing currently but it doesn't sound like that at all. I hear and we all hear what is going on in the "temple admin. dept", which it isn't even called that by the way. Nothing changes? clearly you haven't been paying any attention to what is going on in and to the temples or the church at large
  19. how up to date are you with "the inner workings"? you say "lived", sounds past tense to me, like you were current up to 1994 or something
  20. none of that happened to me, my Mom told me I was getting my PB, went to the Bishop for the interview, then went to the Patriarch's house, never met him before, and he gave me it and that was it
  21. the bishop interviews you, not the patriarch
  22. One thing too is MS is not the only exmo podcast circus in town and they all live in capitalistic society, so Dehlin is competing with other exmo podcast people, winners and losers
