  1. Just speculating, but I don't think HB Lee would have ever ended the priesthood ban. ETB might not have either, which would take us to 1994 before ending it, and by then, there wouldn't be much of a church left.
  2. Did I miss the statistical report?
  3. We might gain a blessing by following the words of Christ:

  6. The only thing we have that is better is the BoM. We certainly aren't the best church because we have the best leaders. There's a lot of ways to interpret Jacob 5, but for me the roots are the scriptures, and the leaders have taken strength unto themselves and overcome the roots.

  8. I've been there. What got me through it was the realization that I shouldn't put my trust in the arm of flesh: 2 Nephi 28:31 [Thus saith the Lord:] Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost. The prophets’ arms are made out of flesh, just like ours.
  9. Remember, the policy wasn't intended to be made public; it was just supposed to be in handbook 1 but was leaked.
  10. I think this makes it extremely clear how involved Jesus is in decision making. When we claim revelation where there is none, we take God's name in vain. >Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord. > I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

  12. The work of the Honor Code Office is so important that it must be accomplished by any means necessary. I feel bad that the rising generation at BYU won’t have ‘police beat’ to read anymore in the daily universe
  13. The point of the temple is to bring us into God's presence. They were already in God's presence.
